Abstract
The objective of this work was to evaluate the frequency of irrigation and height of the Eucalyptus urograndis hybrid seedlings, submitted to the use of the water repelling polymer in different treatments. The experiment was conducted in the experimental nursery of the Faculty of Social and Agricultural Sciences in the municipality of Itapeva - SP. The 4 treatments evaluated were: T1 hydrogel in the pit, T2 hydrogel mixed in the substrate without being hydrated, T3 HB10 irrigation gel and treatment 4 being the control (absence of gel). The planting was carried out in polyethylene bags of 40cmX40cm. Maintained in a controlled environment, covered by a transparent canvas in the greenhouse. Treatment 3 (irrigation gel HB10) were 7 irrigations, being the lowest frequency and growing faster than other treatments, being the most viable for planting. However, it is important to emphasize that all the treatments cultivated with the polymer reacted effectively because it accelerated the initial growth of Eucalyptus seedlings, reducing nutrient leaching, and increased water availability, consequently lower irrigation frequencies.
